Breathing

A breath you can follow.

5 paced rhythms, each with a timer you can follow right here in your browser. The ring grows as you breathe in and settles as you breathe out, so there is nothing to count and nothing to remember.

These are paced breathing exercises, offered as something to do — not treatments, and not medical advice. Stop if a pattern makes you lightheaded, and ask a clinician about anything to do with your health or your breathing.

The rhythms

Each page says what the pattern is, where it comes from and what it is usually used for, and paces it for you. Nothing is saved and nothing is sent.

Breath has a tab of its own in Japa.

Five paced rhythms or one you write yourself, and a sitting of a minute, three, five or ten — or ten breaths, or open-ended. A haptic and a soft tone mark each turn, so you can close your eyes and still follow it. The preset rhythms are free; writing your own is part of Japa Lifetime.
